How does the Vista tent stand up to wind?Updated 7 months ago
The Vista Tents will perform excellently in mild and moderate wind, especially while you're in it. It's not made for high wind situations, and we haven't done wind tunnel testing on our gear, but there are a couple of things to do to help your Vista set stand up to wind. First, whenever possible, reduce the surface area catching the wind. If the wind is consistently blowing in one direction, make sure the narrow side of the tent is facing it, rather than the broad side. Make sure the loops attaching the corners to the cot are tightened and secure. Next, securely attach the Elite Rainfly and stake it down well. For extra protection, consider purchasing separate guylines to use at the attachment points on the rainfly.
